Job Description:
For a start-up developing technologies for remote medical monitoring.
We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and enhance our databases, analytics infrastructure, diagnostic reporting and monitoring systems.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
• Own and enhance our automated diagnostic reporting system processing data
• Design and implement robust data validation frameworks for real-time and device performance data
• Create scalable ETL pipelines to provide database APIs for the ML and the DSP teams.
• Build data visualization solutions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Architect next-generation data infrastructure to support ML-driven predictive maintenance
• Data Pipelines: Design and optimize end-to-end data pipelines for efficient data processing and data quality monitoring systems.
• Establish data validation standards and documentation
• Data Monitoring: Develop methods for monitoring data quality, pipeline performance, and model behavior.
• Cross-company support: Supply the hardware, ML and DSP teams with an API to the database and investigate with them the various data-related aspects.
• Infrastructure: Support scaling of data processing systems, implement compression and advanced indexing strategies.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles
• Expert-level Python programming with focus on data processing libraries (pandas, numpy)
• Strong experience with time-series data processing and analysis
• Proven track record of building automated reporting systems and ETL pipelines
• Proven experience architecting and implementing database solutions for time-series data.
• Leadership Qualities:
o Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders
o Proven project management capabilities and experience leading technical initiatives
• Experience with medical device data or healthcare analytics
• Background in signal processing or DSP
• Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS: Lambda, S3)
• Knowledge of Excel automation and report generation
• Previous experience mentoring junior engineers
