Job Description:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development.
Develop and execute project plans, including risk assessments, design reviews, and validation plans.
Oversee mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure cohesive product development and manufacturing strategies.
Communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively across departments.
Conceptualization and ideation:
Drive the development of design concepts that align with project goals, user needs, and industry standards.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and Product to understand project requirements and user insights.
Generate visionary design concepts and sketches that push the boundaries of innovation while meeting practical needs.
CAD modeling and documentation:
Create highly detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings that communicate design intent, ensuring accuracy for manufacturing teams.
Maintain comprehensive design documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
Prototyping and validation:
Oversee the creation of functional prototypes, both physical and digital, to visualize design concepts and gather user feedback.
Iterate designs based on user insights and technical feasibility provided by the Product teams.
Material expertise and manufacturing:
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of plastic materials and manufacturing processes to guide the selection of appropriate materials and design for manufacturability.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in industrial design, with a significant focus on medical products and plastic materials.
Expert proficiency in SolidWorks.
Comprehensive understanding of plastic material properties, injection molding processes, and design for manufacturability.
Proven track record of delivering successful medical product designs from concept to production.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Strong user-centered design approach and a passion for creating impactful solutions.
Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards (ISO 13485, FDA regulations) is a strong advantage.
