Job Description:
" Lead the end-to-end execution of AST Spacemobile next-generation Direct To Cell payload, from unit-level development through to spacecraft manufacturing and in-orbit testing.
" Work globally with multi-national teams across hardware, software, systems engineering, and manufacturing in Israel, the Israel, Eurpe, India & USA, Spain, ensuring program alignment and successful execution.
" Drive the overall program plan, ensuring the timely delivery of major components such as the beamforming array, central processing subsystems, and feeder links.
" Define and prioritize the validation and rollout of features, ensuring that all deliverables meet the rigorous requirements for space-grade hardware and software.
" Lead design trade-offs and make critical technical decisions, ensuring optimal performance across HW/SW integration and system flows.
" Manage program risks, addressing bottlenecks, resource gaps, and other challenges that could impact program timelines and outcomes.
" Ensure ASIC/FPGA lifecycle management, aligning hardware development with software architecture and system-level requirements.
" Oversee feature validation and in-orbit testing, ensuring that all systems are thoroughly tested and ready for commercial deployment.
" Collaborate with executive leadership, including regular reporting to senior management on program status, risks, and major milestones.
" Report directly to the SVP of R&D
Job Qualifications:
" Bachelors degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Masters degree preferred.
" 7+ years of experience managing complex engineering programs, with a strong focus on large system and software engineering.
" Extensive experience working with global, multi-national teams on large-scale engineering programs.
" Deep understanding of SW/HW/ASIC/FPGA development lifecycles and the ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex hardware and software integration.
" Demonstrated success in leading programs from the unit-level design stage through large scale manufacturing.
" Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to navigate multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and build consensus across global organizations.
" Proven experience in making design trade-offs and leading technical problem-solving for complex system flows, with the ability to gain a full understanding of technical challenges to effectively guide teams in resolving them
" Knowledge of systems architecture, SW/HW partitioning, and space-quality hardware development
" Experience presenting and steering technical and strategic decisions at the executive level, ensuring alignment with the companys broader business and timeline objectives
